Room had leaking cistern on toilet that was reported twice during our 7 night stay, it was not fixed. We had to use towels to soak the leak up daily. The room was not clean upon arrival, dirty over floors and cupboards. (food matter in oven and cupboards?), dust collections on carpet, dirty lino in kitchen area. Front of house staff were amazingly helpful and very very nice to deal with, unsure about cleaners as we did not see them or experience their work during our 7 night stay..... Planned onsite events were noisy but only until 10:30 as advertised, noise was not an issue at all. Again the front of house staff were exceptionally helpful and of great assistance.

Above and Beyond

Was above and beyond what i could've expected. The facilties were well kept and maintenanced, staff kind and helpful, rooms and spaces clean, hospitality through the roof with special "BBQ" social parties in the evening. The location was super short, direct, and safe shot to all of Hollywood.

Safety Issue: the outside entry buzzer keeps being changed without notifying the guests of the new number Staff Complaint: I was dismissed and humiliated by the staff on-sight when I voiced my concern. I felt unsafe being left outside the confines of the hotel without a buzz code at night. I voiced this to a staff member on duty. Instead of coming up with a viable solution, (like notifying the guests to check with the front desk in the morning or something to that effect) I was told this is a vibe hotel and I get what I pay for. And while there is room in the budget/ timetable for karaoke cookouts, there isn’t for safely measures. At this point I realized I was speaking to a new hire (when I was being signed in she mentioned being new) and she was taking my call to action as an attack so I asked to speak to the manager on duty. The manager was sitting at the desk and then reminded me that I was being given special treatment (having housekeeping replacement towels every other day) just before she suggested my purchasing pepper spray or a taser as a safety measure. It was an insult to say the least. I’ve never felt more humiliated addressing a safety concern. I understand it’s a budget hotel. I expected to need to bring my own blowdryer. I figured there would be roaches (which there were in the fridge everyday I might add). The TV not working right (no sound). And I even prepared myself to stop by target to buy bed bug spray on the chance there might be that issue (luckily

Super friendly, hard-working, helpful and professional staff. This place has character, I love it. It’s what you would expect from a hostel, nothing more nothing less. Hostels are places to meet other travellers, and we did here, with lots of communal space. The “tent city” others mentioned was merely 3 tents down the block; it’s not like we were fighting our way to the door through an army of homeless people. I do recommend this place.
