Hidden Gem

Colton Inn is an unassuming-looking older motel, tucked into a residential neighborhood, mere steps from historic 19th century Monterey. My husband and I spent 3 very comfortable nights, enjoying the spacious room, comfortable bed, tasteful decor and helpful staff. I recommend Colton Inn, especially if you’re looking for a low-key and unique stay.

Quaint Stay

The location was a little off the beaten path, but the grounds were wonderful and everyone on staff that we interacted with was very pleasant. The room may have been a tad dated, but the mattress was so comfortable and have a nice sitting chair was a definite bonus. Our room had a microwave and a mini fridge, both of which were clean. The complimentary breakfast was simple, but did the job. We would stay here again.

Racist staff and property is outdated, worst experience staff rushes you out the door. They care about the money but not the experience. Rooms have no ac or proper heating. They say they address it but provide no customer service and trespass you off the property. I want my money back.

Bed very comfortable and overall good location. Some badly worn furniture in the room is apparently soon to be replaced. Desk manager was defensive and even somewhat argumenative when a couple of minor problems were mentioned about the bathroom shower. Complained we should have "come to them first" rather than mention problems in Expedia but we were first told no housing keeping/maintence unless we first requested it which we did not think minor problems needed such request. Suggestions were made at checkout instead.
