Location is amazing and its a super charming, very old building. Staff was fantastic as well. The room was bare bones but to be expected. No soap for handwashing and seemed housekeeping isn't super motivated. The area is incredibly loud at night so bring ear plugs.

Very clean and well run hotel at a perfect location to enjoy the best of Monterey. The rooms were charming and quiet even though the hotel is located on a busy street. They were super welcoming to our dog and the charges were reasonable. We even lucked out on parking and found a spot in the garage across the street. Would definitely come back.

The room felt dirty--badly stained carpet was hard to ignore. We were in the "Historic" section, and this meant windows that didn't work, groaning pipes from a shower going on above us, poor lighting, no bedside table, a musty odor. The location in the city is good, parking was offsite, but not inconvenient, and the close-by British pub was great. Staff were friendly but didn’t project a bustling, professional vibe.

room was fine. but one issue was the window frame was separaated, so that drafts and wind gusts came through window into my room. There were high winds for nights i stayed there, so this was very noticeable. However I did not report it. And all else in room was good

Room was very nice and central to Monterey. Parking in the city public parking lot across the street is super easy. Pay between the hours of 9am to 6pm, after 6pm it's free. Hotel has a Jacuzzi in the basement. They only allow 1 group in at a time so nice and secluded. The hotel has no AC but has fans and heaters if needed. Will go back.

It was an average experience. The first room we got (a standard room) wasn’t great—the carpet felt old, and the room didn’t feel very comfortable. After upgrading for $20, we received a much nicer room for the price, and we were happy to stay one night at the Monterey Hotel.
