We stayed 1 night on the historic side, which I’m glad about. There was a great little coffee shop/cafe on the same corner, which was nice (hotel also serves complimentary coffee by 7am, but we were up early to go backpacking). Walkable to restaurants and Cannery Row, sites, etc. Staff was friendly. Would stay again for sure.

Hotel is in a great location. Close to many restaurant and walking distance to the wharf. Parking garage across the street is adorable. Great classic hotel.

Inconvenient stay

My stay at this hotel was disappointing due to several issues. First, the rooms do not have AC, which made the stay uncomfortable. Second, my room key card constantly stopped working—I had to go back to the front desk every time to have it reactivated, which was very frustrating. Finally, the elevator is not directly accessible from the first floor; you must climb half a floor by stairs to reach it, which is very inconvenient, especially if you have luggage.

Amazingly convenient in the heart of downtown. 6 min walk to the wharf, lots of eateries and shopping. Friendly reception, comfy bed, clean. A very pleasant stay. Thing to note is that this is a historic hotel and rooms may be smaller than you might expect. If you want space to sprawl out, you might want to check their suites rooms.
