Great location, you can walk to lots of restaurants, shops, and the wharf. Only downside is no AC, but windows do open wide to allow airflow. Loved how water dispensers were available in the lobby and our floor. Front desk staff was always kind and helpful.

I booked this hotel because of the beautiful appearance it shows online. However, it is not the same. We arrived, checked in, and went up to the room to find out that the hotel does not have A/C. There was a stand-up fan waiting for us. Windows were open, noises from the street and fumes coming into the window. We asked for a new room. The lady at the desk was very kind and did give us a new room that had a ceiling fan. However, the carpets are not clean, towels are thread born, and the place is virtually in need of some TLC. Not even a muffin, only coffee served at the main area. When we left, there was one person manning the front desk and doubling for a Valet. We had to wait almost 1/2 an hour to get our car. I'm sorry I did not check the reviews before booking at this hotel.

No air conditioning! First room was blazing hot and the fan they provided was filthy. Never brought another fan. Switched room which was an improvement but the old hotel is definitely showing a great deal of wear.

The staff at the hotel were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to a number of cafes and shops. The free coffee & tea in the morning was a nice plus! We stayed in one of the newer rooms with a fireplace and it was very comfortable and clean.

This very old vintage hotel has so much charm and is close to so many shops and dining options and relatively close to Cannery Row! The only thing I didn't like was the street noise as there's no air-conditioning so the windows are wide open and the garbage trucks are there at 6 AM!

Great location, very nice staff. However, there is no AC and the upper floor rooms are like saunas even when its cool outside. The dirty fan in the corner didn't help and it was too loud to leave windows open all night. The decor is dowdy and worn. Every piece of furniture in my room was chipped. The bathroom looks like Uncle Jed remodeled it with whatever was on clearance at Home Depot. If you're looking for an elegant historic property this is not it. If you just want a great location and don't mind a sauna, this is a good value.

The customer service was wonderful! The hotel is in a great location. The rooms are older because of the older hotel (which is historic). The beds were bouncing and kinda squeaky, not a foam mattress.
