I typically book an Autograph hotel for their dependable quality of the property, a great vibe, and a higher end feeling hotel. Hotel Republic was fine but a little “tired” in appearance. The lobby was nice and service at the bar for drinks or am coffee was great. But the room… not so much… it felt bare bones like most hotels immediately following Covid except this one never stepped it up again. The furniture was worn as was the upholstery. Everything felt kind of run down. Kudos to them for the yoga mat which was a nice touch but it was a bit too late for that cool vibe, hip touch when you looked around at everything else. This property could do so much better.

Our stay was great. We were walking distance to most of downtowns attractions. The hotel was spacious and quiet. The checkin was speedy… service was excellent. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating.

The walls are so thin and I can hear exactly what people next door were talking about. Windows were so dirty and blurred the city view. There was trash on the floor in the corner I had to pick up by myself at check in. The hotel lobby bar is very nice though and it’s in great location.

The location and room was great. The only problem I had was the AC didn’t cool the room. Hotel staff was great and helpful. The terrace bar had a nice band playing that night. I would come back on my next return to San Diego

Not worth the premium price in any way.

A stone bathroom counter does not make a nice hotel. I stay in a lot of hotel rooms. I would never come back here. Beds are wholly uncomfortable. $25 "resort fee" that gives you a $25 credit at the hotel restaurant and since we checked in after midnight (delayed flight) I lost out on using that day's "credit". Pillows are the worst. $5 for terrible coffee. The AC had the loudest clanking noise every time it went off. I would rather pick a Holiday Inn where I get coffee, have a comfortable bed, and where breakfast is included.

There was no parking and they charge $65 for valet. I got a coupon for a free meal for $25 but then they charge service fees. There was not much food on the menu to order. Everything was just too expensive.
