It was an okay stay. Loved being on the beach. Very outdated and cobbled together. Our room had an odor that an air freshener couldn’t even help. The air conditioning units were the in-room ones and had a hard time keeping up, very bulky in the room. It was nice having a refrigerator and microwave in the room. No hair dryers. The door to our room was very hard to close so it required slamming. There was a gap in the bottom of the door that I had to stuff with paper towels hoping to keep critters out- at least a 2” x 2” hole.

We have stayed at this property over 5 times and we will never stay again. We were on the bottom floor this time which wasn’t a big deal until we got into the room. The room was so run down, the ac unit had a tube coming out of the wall that did not cool the room down at all, it beeped 6 times every 20 mins, and the TV has 20 channels and only 3 worked. For the amount of money per night they charge for this property there needs to be changes. Very very disappointed, unfortunately this will be the last time we stay at the Surfer Beach Hotel.

Our shower never really got hot when we used it. I mentioned it to the front desk guy upon checkout and he said “that room the hot cold are backwards”. I tried everything to get hot water and nothing worked. It was miserable because it was so cold outside. There was black mold on the ceiling of the shower as well. The rooms need repairs. I’ve stayed multiple times throughout the years and nothing has been updated. I will pay the extra money next time and stay at the Wayfarer moving forward.

This property is right on the beach. The view was beautiful. The hotel staff was very helpful. When we checked in we were told that they had beach chairs and stuff for the beach and just to call down first. However when we did call down for chairs they said they did not do that and they do not carry beach items for guest to use.

Room was not ready. The next day… tip was given to house keeping but bed was not made. When brought up no services left available.for the amenities offered… which were none it was ridiculous to pay pay for fro parking. The beds offered for 3 people were a JOKE!!! 2 people of normal size couldn’t fit. Let office know THE DID NOT CARE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

It’s an older hotel and desperately needs updating. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Problems: toilet ran constantly, door scan security was bad. First room even the maintenance man couldn’t get to work right. Pool was clean when arrived and never cleaned, we left Thursday morning and the pool was opened but still not cleaned. Sand in the bottom and several children and birds later. We were given an upgrade since our room key security wasn’t working on the original, which was nice, but we had to share a king size bed. All in all it had his pluses, but it had its minus I would think for the prices that Pacific Beach demands for rooms they could put money and it would have to be a lot of money into this hotel but then they could raise rates and customers would think that it was worth it I enjoyed my stay as in my friend, but probably would never return

Quick beach getaway

The hotel is on the beach. Hotel is on the older side but well maintained and very comfortable. Mercedes at the front desk was very nice and informative. We really enjoyed our stay.

Old hotel that has been remodeled but still bare minimums. $240 a nite Motel 6. But, location location location. Poor internet. Basic cable and no movie channels. Not able to use firestick. No golf channel. Tiny shower & water closet. (Toilet room) No kleenex. $34.70 a day to park car. (Used to be free) You stay here for one reason, LOCATION!

The bedding was terrible, the pillows were very lumpy as if the foam was falling apart. All the pillows were like this, they may have been the original ones since 1963. The bed duvet was also lumpy. We will noy be staying here again. The hotel offers a great location for beach goers.
