Effectively has no wireless; stay away

Do you enjoy rooms filled with old furniture and creaky faucets that look "historic?" Do you like getting your steps in, as the place only has one elevator on one end of the building? How about a hotel bar that enforces a strict and early bedtime? Or do you enjoy minimizing your screen time due to 8Mbps internet that makes it nearly impossible to do anything online? Then this is the place for you! Seriously, the "resort fee" is a joke. They claim it's for internet, bottles of water in the room, and two drink tickets per day. The internet? 8Mbps, worse than what you'd get 15 years ago (the front desk clerk admitted they used their own antenna and couldn't comment on it). The drink tickets? It's two per stay, not per day, but good luck using them as the bar closes at 10pm (tough luck if you check in at 9:45pm!). The bottles of water? Two mini bottles handed on check in...with $5 bottles in the room. Did I mention the terrible internet? The manager tried to gaslight me and claimed they'd just done an upgrade, but multiple speed tests in multiple browsers on multiple devices reported the same 8Mbps. It's telling they won't acknowledge the issue, just claiming it's the guest's fault.

The hotel is absolutely clean and charming. Staff was always very friendly and kind always offering help or suggestions. Victor made suggestions of local restaurants on our first day and The Mission Breakfast spot was so good we went twice!

Good location

Best thing about this hotel is the location. Close to restaurants and 5th street. Basically the beds are just ok, the pillows foam rubber .

Incredible hotel and beautiful bar but the standard room is tiny and it’s always freezing cold inside the hotel. Great location and you can walk to everything. $60 per night for car storage was a little much.
