The Franciscan exceeded my expectations for my first time being here, the room was very cozy and just right with the amount of amenities. It could have used a bit more storage for clothes but other than that it was perfect 👌 Thank you 😊 to the staff for making it a memorable trip. Will definitely be back.

I don't know if there is a glitch with Expedia but the room types displayed on Expedia do not match the actual room types in the hotel. I thought I had booked a suite with one queen and one full bed but the booking on their end showed only one bed. The hotel was able to accommodate us with a room with a pullout couch, and it was just one night, but it was still a problem. Anyway, the bathroom was especially nice and they actually had complimentary breakfast so it worked out. Otherwise, I would've been upset about paying more for a lesser room. Again, no issues with the property, but the listing on Expedia is misleading (room types and free breakfast availability).

Staff are courteous and polite. Very clean room. I booked for a king bed room with balcony, and was given a bigger room with a living room and a small kitchen. We very much appreciate the good surprise. Have stayed in other hotels in Santa Barbara before, and It’s our first time in this hotel, and we will for sure be back. We had a great stay. Love this place! It’s been remodeled and family owned and dog friendly for well behaved pups. We loved the full fridge and microwave option but it’s so close to the ocean and all the restaurants. Great place to stay!! Fantastic and knowledgeable service as well!

Simple, clean & safe! Outside was well maintained with vegetation & clean grounds. Front desk staff was friendly & helpful with questions (how to use tv). Rooms were super clean, loved the all white bedding. Room was furnished with a queen size bed, two nightstands, a small table and two chairs. In the closet you could find an ironing board, iron, hairdryer & a safe. The bathroom was stocked with shower wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion & hand soap. The bedding was super comfy. My only critique was the bed’s lack of motion-isolation—my husband would get up & I’d instantly wake up with the movement. Breakfast is served from 7:30-9:30am—eggs, bagels, cream cheese, sausage, cereal, bacon & coffee. The location was perfect!!! Everything is within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location. However I booked the hotel because it was supposedly dog friendly. On my first night there I received a knock on my door from the female receptionist saying guest were complaining about my dogs. My dogs barked when people walked by the door but do not continue to bark. This was about 8:30pm and the receptionist was very rude when she let me know about my dogs. My dogs slept through the night without barking and the next day they didn't bark at all when people walked by the door as they became comfortable with their new environment. I liked the location of the hotel but cut my trip short as I didn't feel welcomed with my dogs. If you're looking for a dog friendly hotel I would not recommend this hotel otherwise it was fine.
