I have stayed in quite a few ibis budget hotels and being a budget option my expectations aren’t usually very high. But this would have to be the worst of this chain that I had stayed in. Customer service on check in was ordinary. Couldn’t use the parking I paid for overnight (they either over booked their parking or don’t check that it is ibis guests only parking there), the cleanliness of the room was below par, the aircon/heating unit was noisy and as such couldn’t be used when I was trying to sleep, and the place smelled of sewerage. This one is in desperate need of renovations and a better cleanliness standard at the very least. The only good things were the bed was comfortable and at least that was clean enough, and it was within close proximity to UNSW. But I’ll probably avoid staying here again.

The walls and ceiling of the first room we were given were covered in black mould. It seemed as though the staff member was testing us to see whether we would accept that standard of room because when we went to reception to ask to be moved he agreed right away. The second room was a mild improvement but barely. There were complaints from previous guests written on the door tags still hanging inside the room. There was no mould buy it was not clean. This was by far my worst Ibis experience. I do not recommend.

The property and rooms need a good clean and update. I get it’s a budget hotel but the dust on things and the floor was thick and the bedding all stained under the sheets!

The photos were misleading and the linen was disgusting (it had yellow stains throughout the sheets) and hair in a pillow. Bathroom was pretty poor and perhaps there should be a door between the toilet and shower.

Hotel is fine for a one night stay if you are literally just using the bed for a short sleep as a couple. As a single woman alone I would not recommend staying here. The walls are very thin so all night you hear people coming and going, doors opening/closing, people talking both inside and outside (adding to the unsafe feeling, you kind of feel like someone can walk in at any time). The bathroom is very awkward like an airplane bathroom, even using the toilet is strange. There’s mould in the room where mould shouldn’t be. Comfortable bed, if there were more or better pillows it would’ve been loads better. If it wasn’t for feeling so scared and the noise I might have slept. No dairy free substitutes but McDonald’s next door. A one night only place for sure.

Property is ok. For what the rates are. No remote in the room, no cover on a dirty duvet just top and bottom sheet. Bathroom light flicked off and on when in the shower, tiny bathroom flooded floor when showering Mould and hair on the ground.

29/4/25- Room 117 is riddled with black mould. In Bathroom, bathroom door, there was water damage to the floors in the room with black mould around it. Black mould on room walls, ceiling, the desk. The air con was on to musk the smell. Sink has a blockage so water slow to drain. This hotel needs a good clean and maintenance. Have advised reception. Budget range perfectly describes it. Don’t leave anything valuable in your car. Its positioned between two fast food places so be expecting noise, especially early truck deliveries. I saw whats was on offer for breakfast and for $12 it will be cheaper and better to get breaky from Maccas next door. Note - room prices change daily. Got one room for $81, the next day rooms were $120 but dropped to $95 at night. Do not pay over $95 for a room, not worth it.

This must be the first Ibis that I will never go back! Being close to the airport, you are constantly disturbed by the airplane noise. The room: the walls are very thin where you can hear next door people talking and even snoring at night. All the Room door has sign for no smoking but the corridor reeks of cigarette smoke. The WIFI is free but none existent. It takes a long time to connect with the WIFI but then it will say 'no internet connections! spoke with one of the staff at the reception about the WIFI but was told abruptly to just put my email and it will work. Stayed 3 nights, no internet connections at all. they offer a kettle with sachets of coffee and green tea, NO BLACK TEA supplied, had to get my own. Did not get any rest at night due to the noises and had to drive to Queensland in the morning.
