We had to reschedulel our trip, so I reached out to the inn to ask if we could reschedule our booking (even though the change window had officially closed, according to my booking on Expedia). The inn responded that, since the reservation was made through Expedia, I needed to contact them instead. Expedia was very accomodating and then contacted the inn to request a rebooking on my behalf, but unfortunately, the inn declined. I believe the inn could have been more transparent from the start and simply told me they weren’t willing to accommodate any changes. It would have saved both me and the Expedia staff unnecessary effort. I understand they had the right to say no- and I would have respected that- but it would have been appreciated if they had just said so clearly, instead of trying to put it on someone else. As a result, I didn’t stay at this inn and chose a different option instead, and will do so in the future.
