Our family of 11 traveled from different countries to celebrate my mom’s birthday at Riu Hotel Dubai, but this turned into one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. One night, five of us were in our room, chatting and possibly a little loud for about 15 minutes. Instead of politely asking us to lower the volume, a security guard aggressively threatened to call the police if we didn’t quiet down. We were shocked by this hostility. When the police arrived, the security guard completely twisted the story, falsely claiming we told him, “F*ck you.” This was a blatant lie! Three people were standing beside me and heard everything. We insisted the police check the lobby cameras. On top of this, the food and drinks were terrible, and we felt sick daily, experiencing nausea and stomach discomfort. My husband developed a rash on his face, and now that we’re back in New York, we are seeing a doctor to find out the cause. We have traveled the world and stayed in many hotels, but we have never experienced such awful service. Staff should resolve issues professionally and politely, not intimidate guests. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

It was unforgettable visit to Dubai! The Hotel Riu Dubai corresponds to all 5 stars. Spacious place with a friendly staff. Beautiful clean beach within walking distance, 3 swimming pools, water slides. Four restaurants with varied and delicious food. Sport bar with two pool tables. There you can grab some snacks or get some coffee/drinks. Besides those nice goodies we were impressed with cleanliness maintained throughout the days, both inside and outside the hotel. Our room was clean and tidy every day. All the desired places to visit, such as Burj khalifa, Miracle Garden, Dubai Mall, etc. are within reasonable reach of 20-30 minutes by car. There in the hotel you can also book tours to Abu Dhabi, Jeep Safari, etc. Our time was enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this wonderful place.Thank you Hotel Riu Dubai Beach Resort!

The staff are courteous. The property is very clean and secure. The waterpark and beach onsite is great for families. The restaurants, spa, and on property gift store are all convenient. Enjoyed the daily entertainment offered at the resort.

Unfortunately, this is a typical example of an all inclusive hotel with a ‘pile it high and sell it cheap’ ethos. We did however enjoy our seven days stay at the RIU Dubai, mainly due to the exceptional staff. Every member of staff we encountered in the reception area and bar/restaurant staff were incredible with a high level of customer care. Special mention to Khuin and Pem working with The Palm and The Moon restaurants - these two members of staff went above and beyond - they are a credit to the RIU Hotel chain and epitomise the high standard of staff training. Our room was cleaned to a high standard and indeed the communal areas have a high level of cleanliness. We found the food to be delicious, fresh and flavoursome in all of the restaurants - particularly enjoying the Lebanese cuisine at The Moon. This is a four star hotel and it’s certainly a four-star standard, nothing more. The entertainment is very Butlins in style and all of the communal areas, including restaurants are soulless and lack imaginative decor and opulence. The main restaurant is huge and resembles a soulless canteen. Our main distain with the Hotel was the fact that you could’ve been on a beach anywhere in the world; it did not showcase the beauty of Dubai. I would recommend staying in a city centre hotel. The building itself is north facing to the shore of the estuary and therefore is not ideal for sun worshippers as you lose the sun around 4 pm.
