Great hotel, had everything we needed, and the pool area was great. They were in the middle of renovating the lobby when I was there (in September 2025) though, so it was a bit of a maze to get to the front desk. Elevators were pretty slow.

Room was clean. Carpet seems a bit in need of cleaning, especially in the hallways. Room was quite comfortable except it felt damp like the air conditioner hadn’t run in several days of hot weather. Dampness seemed to dissipate near the end of the stay most likely from it being set at 66 to draw moisture out of the air. Would definitely stay again.

Overall, our stay at Hotel MdR was pretty good. The carpet throughout the hotel hallways is pretty gross and its lifting in areas making it difficult to roll your suitcase or having it trip you. The room was nice. Bed was comfortable. The location was also great. Convenient shops and easy access to Venice Beach.

not a great experience even after checking out yesterday im still getting charges on my credit card for food and services that i never ordered the whole group i was with 12 guys experienced the same issues i will be conacting my credit card issuer today it clearly states on my obline staent that the merchant charging the card is possibly fraud not great womt be staying again not looking forward to aeeing how many more bogus charges im getting

We arrived and the room type we had booked was not given to us we asked why and they said there were none Available! If paid for a pool level room with patio I really hoped to have got assigned one. We were offered so money off our first night which we took, better than nothing! The room we had was tired and the hotel corridors are very tired and carpets not very clean The noise at night was bad the patio doors are not double glazed and sounds like they are open and the road near by is load we all had to where ear plugs We saw cockroaches inside the lower level corridors The breakfast wasn’t great not much choice I could go on to be honest

The pictures of this property are very deceiving. The building is old and not well maintained. I looked on their descriptions online for pool hours and regulations ahead of time. It said the pool was heated year round. The pool had a lot of debris in it, the dirty towels were overflowing, and we were told we couldn’t bring any outside food or drinks when we brought a small cooler bag with some snacks and drinks for my little family and myself. We were hesitant to get in but we were on vacation and the pictures online were the reason I chose to stay since my son loves to swim. The water was cold, and we were quickly over the debris in the pool. We left after a few minutes. The room was super small and the balcony was dirty with cigarette butts and empty plastic bottles. Their security cameras also looked as though they didn’t work. Needless to say we will not be back.

Couldn’t access any movie channels without buying movies. Only local tv. No options for any streaming apps.

This DoubleTree property is conveniently located and has free parking. But the hotel needs some love, and more staff. Bar, restaurant, housekeeping, and front desk all need help. Employees virtually ignore the pool area, housekeeping requires a few calls to get to your room the same day, and the amenities in the room and bathroom are lacking.
