The Old Pink Wyndham Shines Again! We'll be back

This was a one day stay to celebrate a birthday. We have visited this property three times since 2010. The staff is always friendly, the rooms are always clean, and we love the balconies, which are great for enjoying a glass of champagne and watching the sunset. It's not glamorous, it's a little kitchy, and it's perfect. It's also a lot less expensive than properties closer to the beach. While the surrounding neighborhood isn't the sexiest part of the city, it's easy to get practically anywhere from this location. The property is old and in some ways shows its age, but the recent renovations have look great. The room was basic, but clean and new, and the balcony was spacious. I miss the old teal railings, but the pink facade remains and the building stands out as it always has. If you are a traveller that doesn't need much but a clean room, comfortable bed, and a hot shower, this is perfect. We also enjoy the fact that the property is located between the beach district to the west, and the restaurants to the east. The new wine bar across the street was terrific too! Manny was gracious and welcoming and our check in/out was a breeze. We'll be back. It's a tradition.

This is my 3rd stay in the last 6 months and by far the worst. Everything was fine until the smell of sewer in my room the last night. I would have opened the balcony door but there is no privacy and the person in the next room could have easily come into my room. I feel sorry for the next person to stay in this room. Also the AC worked but did zero justice for the room as it was muggy and hot the whole time.
