I was disappointed as the photos don't really match the property. The staff was super nice and parking was $15 a day. The room itself was okay. It was clean-ish.. there were dark hairs in the shower, floor and bedding. My room was located next to the elevator and i had a view of the alley. I will say, everytime i book thru Expedia (its not expedia's fault) I get a room less desirable. I usually get the worst view, worst location and such. Not sure if it's bad luck, but i don't have that issue booking outside of Expedia. The grab and go breakfast was okay. The coffee was not great. The VIP amenity was bleh, but it was nice to get something. Its not an awful place by any means, one night stay was plenty and probably will not be back. There is a very lovely hotel up the street, but the PPN was double this at $200 a night.

This property was very well staffed, friendly people, safe area, great coffee shop next door called 10 Speed. This was conveniently located near the best Santa Monica has to offer!

This is a perfectly adequate hotel, considering the area and the cost. The rooms are not small and the bathrooms are clean, but the hallways are tight and their carpets are past their prime. Elevators also need a refresh. All in all, this hotel does the job.

Gateway Hotel in Santa Monica, Ca is Fantastic!

Wonderful stay in the rooms were so clean! Staff was very friendly! And the restaurant next-door is amazing. So convenient to the surgery center right across the street.

The staff are exceptional, the room was spacious and a smart design with the toilet/tub in a separate room from the sink. The windows are double pane to block road noise.
