This place isn't for the faint of heart. The sidewalk right in front of the hotel is full of homeless people, and a lot of them were actively doing drugs whenever I walked by. When I first approached, one of the people on the street actively started insulting me and calling me slurs, which was scary because the front door of this hotel is normally locked so I had to wait to be let in.
The room itself was dire. We had a single window facing an interior space, which I thought would be nice to avoid the street noise, but it actually made the room unbearably hot even though it was *cold* outside. Running the provided fan didn't help. It also had a really heavy smoke smell for a smoke free room that actually made my eyes burn a little.
The bathroom seemed clean enough. The bed's sheets had a bunch of threads popping out and were thin, but there weren't bed bugs. The man at the front desk was nice. I did, however, end up getting a different hotel over by the Marina. I've done cheap hotels, but this was too much for me.
