While the hotel was cute and boutique style, and the room was great - very clean, and very comfortable bed... The service was awful. Clearly just a job to pay the bills for them, as they should not be in hospitality. The woman who checked us in wasn't rude but not friendly or welcoming. The bar was also closed for a private event, which we found out later, but she didn't inform us at check in. But also nobody seemed to know about said event, but we're very rude in telling us the bar was closed. No one even acknowledged us when we checked out. For the price and location, it wasn't bad. I'd recommend if you don't care about service. I do love a hardwood floor hotel so I'd consider staying again.

The neighborhood has a huge amount of homeless people actively doing drugs on the street. I have traveled a lot all over the world and this is probably the worst I have ever seen. I'm fine with a few people here and there but when you are walking down the sidewalk and having to pass through large groups of 15-20 people, it feels kind of sketchy. Market St is definitely not what it once was and a huge amount of retail stores are closed. Bottom line, stay aware of your surroundings and plan to take Uber at night rather than walking. The room was just okay. Our room looked out to a blank wall and was not overly bright. There were no chairs in the room except for one at the desk but THERE was an exercize bike which made a great place to hang your clothes. There is also no coffee or tea in the room and the coffee service in the lobby is not available all day. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine. The separately owned restaurant off the lobby was closed on Sunday and the bar in the lobby was closed on Sunday also which seemed like bad planning to me. There are pool tables in the lobby and upstairs in the game room. There was also a shuffleboard and two pinball machines available to play at no cost which was nice. They pinball machines do need some maintenance and there was no chalk for the poll cue sticks. Overall, I'd say the hotel worked okay for our trip but I can't say I was wowed!

I wanted to share my recent experience during my stay, as I believe in giving honest feedback to help improve guest experiences. Unfortunately, my stay was less than ideal due to a strong smoke smell in my room. It seems the ventilation system is connected to the adjacent mall, allowing smoke to drift into the room, making it feel like someone was smoking right beside me. As someone who is quite sensitive to smoke, this made it incredibly difficult to relax and get a good night’s sleep, which is a fundamental part of any hotel stay. I genuinely appreciate the effort your team puts into creating a welcoming environment, but this particular issue significantly impacted my comfort and overall experience. Given the circumstances, I kindly request a full refund, as I was unable to fully enjoy my stay due to the air quality issue. Thank you in advance for your understanding and attention to this matter. Great spot to stay, really loved the overall vibe of the place from the lobby to the rooms. Staff I encountered was friendly, although not terribly informed on the area and available places to eat etc but very nice.
