Staff is friendly and helpful. Not many redeeming qualities otherwise. You’re sharing a bathroom with the entire floor, not just your capsule. That was not clear from the descriptions. I was so surprised I went back to see my reservation to see if I had missed it. I thought I’d be sharing a bathroom with just my roommates and that we’d have the bathroom inside our room — that is not the case. Not sure when the carpet was last cleaned but the whole place smells and is incredibly grimy. The cleaning crew work really hard so the beds and bathrooms are clean around check-in time but there’s always a strong chemical cleaner smell on top of the carpet grime and marijuana. I think this is fine for people who are used to hostel stays and are interested into the indie music scene. I’m probably too old and used to my creature comforts to ever stay here again. Also note there’s no elevator and Polk street it not very luxury city center. You’re getting what you pay for = a clean bed to sleep in, access to a shower and bathroom, some storage. If you wanna use the in-room lockers, bring your own lock and key. They don’t give or rent them out. If you have more than one checked bag size luggage, this is probably not a good fit.

The overall condition of the place is run down and dirty. My bedding was not in good shape: pilled and the duvet cover had a busted zipper. Holes in the curtains. Dingy smelling overall. Also, very loud until late- little insulation between the music rehearsal spaces and the bedrooms. Seems to be sparsely used as a hotel or hostel, however, as I was alone in my dorm room three or four nights.

WE HAD THE ROOM WITH A PRIVATE BATH. IT WAS VERY SMALL. NO WASH CLOTHES IN THE BATHROOM. CALLED THE NUMBER FOR HELP AND LEFT MESSAGE AND NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK. ALSO, THERE IS NO ELEVATOR, SO WE HAD TO HALL 2 BIG SUITCASES UP THE STAIRS

i absolutely loved staying here. it was my first time in san francisco as a young solo female traveller and this place was the best hostel i stayed in by far. the staff are amazing and super down to earth and helpful, the events hosted are super fun , there’s so many places to hangout around the hotel, and the area is beautiful

The pod and room were fine, but this hostel is also a band rehearsal space so if you wanted to nap and relax before your redeye flight, you’re out of luck if a band is rehearsing on the floor beneath you.

First they booked me in an all female room, the lady manager with no basic human manners yell at me to get out of the room or she's call the police. She have a guest to talk to me, all this happened at 1:30 am. I have to waited in the small coffee room until 8:00am for the morning manager to rebooked me in a different all male room so I did. I NEVER SLEEP THERE UNTIL THE CHECKOUT DAY, turn in the keys and I was out of there, never returned, never recommended, never stayed here again.
