This hotel proved to be an incredibly uncomfortable and unhappy place to stay. The provided breakfast was only cereal, fruit, and pastries. The advertised restaurant connected to the hotel was basic and overpriced. The valet parking was inconvenient--we had to regularly leave the car in the middle of a busy street because the curb parking was full. The old-fashioned elevator required us to pull open a door and slide the metal door to get in, which made transporting luggage very difficult. The sink in our room collapsed while we were using it, likely from a combination of its age and the water that would drip from every wall when the shower was on. Despite the sink falling clean off the wall from faulty installation or overlooked signs of age, the hotel took our deposit. The shower took some time to heat up and the knob for adjusting the temperature (in both rooms) was loose and fell to the extremely hot or cool side with the smallest tap. Overall, the price was appealing and the hotel's architecture was charming, but we would not stay here again. It ended up being a stressful, uncomfortable stay.

Location is great, lovely property and accommodation. Just a couple notes: The property dates to 1906 and as such, there is only one elevator and it is old fashioned (where you have to open a door and then slide the grate, etc), I mention it because it can be awkward to operate if you have lots of luggage like we did (we were on a lengthy road trip), and while stairs were also available, they were narrow and winding and would have been even more difficult. Additionally, while parking is advertised, be aware that not only is it valet and not onsite (but I had no safety concerns regardless), there was a time limit imposed as well. We could not drop our car off later than 10pm (which was not an issue), however we were told we could not claim our car until 8am. Fine for many to be sure, but our travel plans required us to be checked out and on the road before then. So we ended up having to pay for a different parking garage nearby in order to have access to our vehicle at our convenience. Which was fine, same price, just about 3 blocks away; however not everyone might be comfortable with that set up, and I wanted to bring awareness as I don’t recall reading anywhere that the parking offered by this hotel had time limits. So just FYI. If you have no parking constraint dilemma, this place is pretty fantastic and I do recommend.

Horrible Nob Hill hotel

Restaurant was permanently closed due to renovation. This was not advertised on their website. Breakfast was poor. Coffee was horrible. Air conditioner didn't work. Ceiling fan was extremely loud, squeaky and high pitched. Room had no sound insulation. The room next to us that shared a connecting door had a gap on the bottom so we could hear everyone and everything happening on the next room including trips to the bathroom, tv, cell phones, talking etc.. The one broken down luggage cart did not fit in the very ancient elevator. The ancient elevator took upwards of 10 to 15 minutes to arrive when called. The shower was moldy. There wasn't any type of shelf for toiletries. The led light used to light the hed head bord was broken and flashed like a crazy strobe light. Vallet setvice was very inconsistent. There was no plan on place to deal with street access when outside work was being done. We had to wait 30 minutes for our car when checking out. At which point they asked if we could walk a block up hill over to the garage that housed our car. We had numerous bags so i saud absolutely not. I mean what were we paying vallet service for if no one actually brought us our car. They eventually figured out how to get our car within 15 feet of the hotel. The front desk attendant did help us with loading our bags. All in all a horrible place to stay. I was extremely disappointed because their advertisement and reviews seemed positive. I will never stay there again.

Checked in and out same day unfortunately. No valet or room service as started on website. Parking is 10 mins away which is a bit scary at night. Room service for this hotel is to clean your room not provide food service. Room was freezing and option was to bring a portable heater. Unless you are looking for a bed only to sleep, don’t recommend for a mini vacay or work travel. I still paid for the night
