Staff were only following policies when asked for a swap so they couldn’t help - room was not spotless - phone charging plugs did not work - best thing is location - beds were comfortable - bathroom was sufficient- no lifts but overall decent stay

This is an interesting boutique hotel. A little eclectic in design compared to modern hotels. A bit older, no elevators, and plenty of stairs including to restaurant ( down) and up to all rooms not on base floor. Baggage lift was inoperative, but friendly staff fetched our bags up and down stairs which we had plenty from a month long trip across the globe. Room had standard amenities, small bath and tiny shower. Beds were just OK. Carpet had some old stains, but seemed clean. A small bar area, we were only ones there. Kind Check in clerk took care of bar, so assume it’s not a busy place as there are bars around area that were busy. Restaurant was a nice place, several levels as this building in on a steep hill. The area around had nice shops, restaurants and an amazing weekend market, which we all enjoyed. It is quite close to cruise port, which we desired.

Very interesting hotel and location of the hotel. Close to shore walking, dining, sidewalk market (Fr -Su), ferry terminal. Pleasant and helpfull staff. No elevator, but staff helps with luggage up and down the stairs. We liked it very much.

Great staff, allowed for an early check in. All around one of the easiest stays ever. The room was OK due to the age of the building but location is top shelf. Would go back again and thanks to all the staff especially front desk.

Staff are very friendly. Love the bar on the balcony. Room is very clean. Lots arounf bars,restaurants and market. Not a far walk to the boats. Good location. Only thing i woukd say was the breakfast. We ordered it to a room took 30 mins whoch im not really fused about the thing i was was the breakfast itself. There was no butter for the toast, avocado wasnt freash, it obviously came from a sqeasy bottle. The sausage was alright . I asked for soft boiled egg i got but no egg cups to put them in...they where hot but rest was cold overal the price you pay which was $32 Is not worth it. But other than that i would stay again

A/C unit leaked water on top of our luggage. Spent 2 hours drying our clothes with a hair blower provided by maintenance after the one originally placed in our room was not working. Spent the night with no a/c and room damp. Requested a room change and they said the hotel was fully booked. They placed an ice bucket to collect the water drops all night, no sleep at all with the sound...Checked out early clothes still wet to avoid any other issues.

You’re definitely paying for the location with this hotel; right in The Rocks and less than five minutes from circular quay. Our room was comfortable but somewhat tired. The blinds didn’t fully go up and the bathroom certainly needed some decorative attention albeit the shower was excellent

The location in “the rocks” area is the selling point for this hotel. You can walk to the ferry and other transportation from the hotel and our favorite little cafe was steps away (the Rocks cafe). The in-hotel cafe was middle eastern so can’t comment if it was good or bad, did not try.

The room needs updating. Carpet is old and dirty. Bathroom has mold. Bed is not comfortable. Close to Opera House. They have a shower in case you get there early and the room is not ready. Many restaurants nearby.

Harbour Rocks was clean and the staff were fantastic. I didn’t give this a 5 because I saw nowhere in the information about this location having NO LIFT. My spouse and I are in our 60s and have bad knees. After having to lug 50+ pounds of luggage up/down three flights of stairs, the charm and location of the place waned. We were grateful we only stayed here one night. I recommend to the hale and hearty, but if you have physical limitations you need to ensure you will be on the first floor at the time of booking. They also have a stellar sandwich shop.
