Avoid if you can

I wish there was a separate way to review budget hotels because the stars on this one are misleading to what is actually at the property. Even for budget hotels standards, this place is pretty bad. Old smelly carpets, not even a coat of paint of most of the walls, dirty bathrooms, and paper thin walls. If you are travelling solo and on a budget, there are hostels that are much better than this place. The staff and location are great and hence the two stars.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Our room smelt like sewage. Air conditioning very bad.Room small. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Such a shame because the location is excellent.

Blanket had food and some crusty white stuff on it (gross). Shower curtain covered in mould all along the bottom. Room had very strong smell.of paint or some chemical. They supplied 2 little packets of sugar with tea and coffee stuff. Location is great. Staff are pretty friendly.

The hotel is very well located in the city centre yet it is very quiet inside the hotel. You can notice the slight vibrations from the underground trains I believe but it is not an issue. The room was spacious and clean with good amenities. I really enjoyed 4 days in Sydney because everything was so accessible from this hotel. Coles supermarket, several coffee shops and eateries across the road. The hotel office was very reasonable. A short walk to Circular Quay. Would certainly come back here when in Sydney.
