For a premium 5 star hotel, while the facilities were generally good, and the buffet breakfast was nice, I felt that the rooms weren’t as “luxe” as they were some years ago, and compared to some other comparable hotels in Sydney. To be honest, the one I was in was a bit tired and could do with a refresh. That said, the hotel is in a good location and the staff were pleasant to deal with.

This hotel is in a great location and the rooms are nice, although they’re the same as they were 15 years ago. We have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years, but sadly the service level has dropped significantly. We paid $150 for a 3pm late checkout so that we could have a nap before getting on the road for our next stop. We put the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the door when we got back to the room so we could sleep. About 30 mins later, when we had paid for another 2 hours in the hotel, the cleaner let themselves into the room and we woke up to a stranger walking in on us. We couldn’t get back to sleep, so we ended up leaving early. When we told the front desk staff about what happened as we checked out, they just said sorry and proceeded to charge us the full rate for the late checkout.
