We needed help with Yamato transport and they helped with the forms. The breakfast in the lobby was super convenient and location across from the train station was perfect. Laundry, toiletries, coin exchange all available here. We had our own bathroom so either standard hotel or traditional hostel options.
Location was fantastic, about 5 mins walk from entrance/exit gate of Ueno station. Check in was fast, amenities were available and had bathtub if you book the family room. The room was bigger than I initially thought, enough space for repacking my luggages.
2 mattresses were located on the wooden raised floor and 1 bunk bed. Breakfast was optional, western style and cost ¥770 but we didn’t try.
It would have been perfect if the water on the bath tub didn’t stuck and cause smell.
We enjoyed our stay. It was very close to the train station, Ueno Park, restaurants, and shopping areas.
The room was a little small but it had everything we needed to make it an enjoyable and comfortable stay.
We are a family of four with two teenage kids so we needed four beds. The dorm style living was great and very reasonably priced. The shared bathrooms were very clean and we'll kept and while the room is compact it was big enough for us as the room has a fifth bed area which could be used to sit and chill. I selected it based on proximity to the train station and while it close, the emarest entrance is a couple minutes away, you actually have to walk another 4-5 to get to the actual station entrance. Still not too bad but not as close as it seems on the map. Also the immediate surrounding area is devoid of anything so you have to walk back to the station to find restaurants and stuff. I'd still stay here again and the actual property is very good.
Liked the place. Great showers! Don't bother with the breakfast no matter how cheap it is, just get couple things from the convince store nearby. Owner was rude but facilities were above average.

Location is awesome.
Unfortunately, the futon mattresses and pillows were very tired and worn and super uncomfortable hence my rating. I wasn’t expecting super comfortable it was a futon after all, but these were so worn out that it felt like sleeping in a hole, with mountains on both sides. I have spent many nights on a therma-rest and other futons, but these very much needed replacing. The breakfast was super basic and usually not enough space to even get at it or sit down as the hostel hosts large tour groups of young travellers. The room was clean and relatively quiet.
Japan has not medium or low quality, even on low class areas everything is outstanding, overall the country, the citizen, the properties, the restaurants, the food, the areas visited etc etc all is amazing, and n Japan you can choose blindly anything and anything will be amazing. 10/10 and 5 start for this country
There are many of tourist groups with guide and quite noisy at the lobby in the morning. I paid for bf but couldn’t get the proper table and seat because of group tour reservations. Even they didn’t come down and empty table. We have to sit wiggly table and squeeze each other. However the family room was really fun and nice
Very kind staff despite my frustrated state when I arrived. They helped me settle in and the room was excellent with all the conveniences anyone would want. Will definitely stay again.
Value for money. Easy walk from Ueno exit. It’s abit of a walk from the gate but it’s easy to drag to luggage over to the exit and to the hostel. Bed and pillow is too hard for my liking but I stay only 1 night here so it’s fine. Bring your own towel! They charge a small amount for the towel.
