The rooms are spacious and very clean. The staff is amazing. It’s just steps away from Ikebukero Station West entrance. This was our third time staying at the Metropolitan Hotel Ikebukero and we will stay there again when we return to Tokyo in the fall of 2026.

The staff at the lobby are very courteous and always try to give prompt service. The room are clean and the decor seems to be updated and looks contemporary. I try to get this hotel when I am in Tokyo for a large part because of its great location near a transport hub and also because the hotel limousine drops of at the hotel.

Very polite, helpful staff. I chose this hotel for a couple of reasons. #1 There is a bus district from Haneda Airport, it’s a little expensive than taking a train but it’s helpful for me not carrying around a big suitcase in train station. #2 it’s a min away from Ikebukuro Station. It’s very convenient to access to take subway #3 they have laundry room, quite enough washing machines, I didn’t need to bring a lot clothes

The hotel room is rundown. The carpet, bathroom and furniture is old and needs renovation. The soundproofing is inadequate - we could hear the people in the next room talking, sneezing and moving around. We stayed at this hotel based on its 4+ star rating. I finally returned to Japan after living there for several years in the late 1990's. This hotel hit on all of the qualities I was looking for on our return. We booked an "Executive Deluxe King" room which was on the 24th floor. Having spent many nights in Japanese hotel rooms over the years, this was by far the most spacious room I ever stayed in (~375 SF). The location was optimal for us - the nearby train station got us to sites like Chiyoda, Shinjuku and Shibuya easily. We were able to ride a few stops on the Yamanote line to Ueno in order to catch the Shinkansen (for our day trip to Nikko). The limousine bus for the trip back to Haneda airport was very convenient (numerous departures during the day) and quite inexpensive. We enjoyed wandering the neighborhood at night to find dinner places. There are hundreds of restaurants to choose from and the vibe is much more relaxed than Shinjuku or Roppongi. We were welcomed everywhere we ventured and many of the restaurants had English language menus available. We loved our very large bathroom - a nice soaking tub and a very large shower room, all separated from the rest of the bathroom. The laundry room was a great feature - it allowed us to pack a bit lighter knowing we could launder our clothing while we were there. One can monitor the washing machines (actually combination washer/dryers in a single unit) through the hotel television service. You can see which units are in use and how many minutes are left on each machine.
