This property felt like an outdated mall. Service was very uneven. Some staff went out of their way while others, including the concierge were extremely unhelpful. I felt like I was “a number” amongst throngs of tourists. I think this hotel might be better for large groups, who are looking for good rates.

Comfortable, super clean room, bed and spacious bathroom. Exceptional staff service and efficiency. Many restaurants at the hotel to choose from. The Japanese gardens in the interior court were magnificent - even in the cold weather and with no spring blooms or green grass yet.

Best Hotel Overall Experience and Service

New Otani Main is by far in my top 3 hotels in all of Tokyo and let me list the ways: 1. Service - as soon as I walked in the door, I was treated as a VIP. Staff was extremely courteous and professional, check-in was smooth and quick, and I had absolutely no problem at any time with anything that I requested, whether it was an iron and board or room service. Everything was done professionally and in a timely manner. 2. Restaurants and Bars - Otani has no shortage of restaurants, and each is unique and of high quality. I didn't even have to leave the hotel as it is like a mini-city with every type of service imaginable, too lengthy to list here but my favorite buffet restaurant 'Satsuki' has some of the most delicious and high-quality Japanese breakfast items on the menu. Capri bar and Sky bar are so beautiful and elegant with a great vibe. 3. Location - Otani is close to everything that I like, restaurants and shops, and is within walking distance of at least 5, that I know of, train stations. It's even got a fishing pond nearby! The vibe is quite different from over-crowded noisy areas such as Shibuya and Shinjuku, located in a kind of high-class area in Akasaka, even the name sounds cool!

Property was very beautiful! Bathroom in guest room was a little on the small side. Bed was a bit firm. All staff were very friendly & helpful. Food a little pricey, but very good!

Excellent stay at the New Otani

I always stay around Akasaka-mitsuke station but it was my first time at The New Otani (Main). Service was excellent. I arrived at the hotel early in the morning after an overnight flight and the staff was polite and allowed me to use the shower at the gym. They also upgraded my room, which was great! The room was spacious, bed was massive and there was plenty of space for my clothes in a walk-in closet. Overall the hotel lobby was almost always busy but the size makes it look lively, rather than crowded. The only drawback was the pillows which I found a bit hard, but overall it was an excellent stay! I would definitely go back.
