Accommodation near Empire State Building

The property is in a great location for Times Square. Very easy to walk to from the train station. The staff operating the hotel day to day were kind. However the staff in the margaritaville restaurant were extremely rude with long waits even with a reservation and subpar food. One evening we asked to sit at the bar and were told it was full so we asked for a table. We were told we couldn’t be seated if we were just drinking, when we intended to eat as well and then were seated at a table so wobbly we couldn’t even sit a cup on it without it spilling. The waiter acknowledged it laughed and never offered to move us when there was plenty of tables open. The next night we made a reservation to avoid this and had a 30 minute wait before we got drinks or acknowledged by anyone. Oh don’t forget the timeshare desk haggling you while you wait on the host to come seat you. After the second night of a rude experience at the restaurant we decided to walk across the street and eat instead and really enjoyed our meal. Some safety concerns during our stay: the elevator wait times were very long during the day, and during our stay were told the stairs were not open? Rooms were small but clean with a great view, and overall a good location and decent stay.

Sheraton really disappointed me. While I understand that rooms are not always ready when you arrive, to charge guests to hold their bags $6 per item is nothing but a cash grab. Then on top of that, they refused to provide even an hour for a later checkout resulting in us conveniently needing to leave our luggage with them again for a fee and more money for them. It’s a disgusting practice I have never seen before. I grew up with parents in the then Starwood chain and it’s really sad to see this brand of hotels turn into this.

Great location, friendly staff, and updated room

Staff was very friendly, room was clean and spacious, the restaurant Bond 45 was excellent. The only thing is that I wanted to purchase the hotel tote bag and nobody could tell me where I can purchase it.

I got a queen size regular room on the 4th floor. It was of a good size although the bathroom was on the small side. Not much of a view overlooking air conditioning and heating equipment but it was very quiet. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The staff is helpful and friendly. Really liked the restaurant attached to the hotel because the food was good and staff was friendly. I will stay here again.
