The hotel was very clean and staff was very courteous. I loved being welcomed with snacks, water and warm cookie. That was an excellent touch

Staff sometimes was not friendly but the hotel is at great location and it is beautiful

Great location

A lovely, iconic property in a great location for restaurants, theater, sightseeing. Hotel was in the process of starting a new reservation system, was seriously unprepared for it, and significantly understaffed causing delays at check in that were incredibly long. It took us 2 visits to the front desk and 90 minutes before getting access to our rooms. Excusing mistakes and software glitches is one thing, but the staff did not deal with it well. They apologized profusely and repeatedly, but no other response. For example, no offer of water or a drink while in line, no offer of a breakfast or a coffee for our trouble; no offer of a drink in the bar, etc. For the price of a room ($800+), one expects a bit more respect and responsiveness. Kudos to Henry (valet/bellman) and Medy (concierge desk) who were most helpful and apologetic.
