Nice location and property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A few minor details missed the mark - hot tub was not cleaned while we were there, contrary to book on the property. There was only one roll of toilet paper, and the instructions we received for trash removal were not quite right, causing confusion and time delay. But overall a fun place, clean, and a relaxing place to stay!

Overall, we had a great time!There were 8 of us, so we needed to use the sofa bed, which was uncomfortable but my son brought a topper so it was better! The beds in the rooms were comfortable and we had no issues with the AC! It was perfect!Be aware that the walk down to the dock is super steep! But we all had a good workout. lolSuggestion- make sure you have everything you need so you don’t have to make too many trips!The dock was awesome. We fished and floated, and used the kayak and paddle boards. Just be sure you understand that you can’t use your own kayaks or other watercraft on the lake! Only the ones that are there. You can take yours to the boat launch down the street.The lake was beautiful!It was great to have linens included! We used the washer and dryer to refresh the towels-we had 8 guests so we needed to do that!The kitchen had everything you needed to cook! The keurig worked great! The hot tub on the deck was also wonderful- super clean! We enjoyed spending time just chilling on the deck. Sunsets were amazing! The house can use a little TLC (updates) but like I said, overall we had an amazing time! The host was super and quick to answer any questions we had!

Beautiful Spot

The site on the lake and the view were amazing. The house was very nice as well. We enjoyed being able to visit the Cole House and Oleana, Frederick Church's amazing house.There were some small issues that kept it from being perfect. The upstairs bathroom sink drain was not working well. Some pots and pans needed a good brillo cleaning. The couch was very low. I could have used a wire brush for the grill. One of the upstairs beds was a bit uncomfortable. All minor problems but they did add up in an otherwise beautiful spot.

Perfect girls weekend getaway

Six of us stayed at the Sleepy Hollow Lake in Athens for a girls trip and it was the PERFECT location! Not far from town, amazing views, and a hot tub overlooking mountains. Diana’s communication during our stay were top notch. Would love to stay again!

Great Little Getaway

A perfect little getaway on a beautiful lake. The back deck was wonderful to sit out on, relax, and take in the view. Super easy to get over to Hudson for the day and do some antiquing. Diane was very responsive and super easy to work with. I will say make sure you follow her directions to get there. Two of our three parties made it fine, but I was taken to the vacant lot on the other side of the lake by my GPS. We had a very enjoyable weekend at the lake :)

Couple things…

Beautiful view but lacked any place to hang clothes. Shower was nice but sink didn’t drain properly in the second floor bath. Lamp lighting would have been easier on the eyes for TV and reading. Directions to the place got us lost. We came from the north and saw no sign for the restaurant we were looking for. Had great weather and overall enjoyable time

Beautiful location

The house has a beautiful location and the view of the lake is beautiful. There are several things to do in the surrounding areas such as hiking, horseback riding, shopping and nice restaurants. The house was overall nice. It has a combination of very nice updates and a few needed updates. The couches are extremely uncomfortable. Our host was responsive for the most part.

Great Getaway

Delightful, comfortable, scenic, and quiet location on a beautiful lake. Except for the lack of towel racks and the steep back hillside down to the water, it was the perfect place to get away and enjoy the beauty of the setting.

Athens Lake House

Gorgeous overall. Few hiccups; air conditioners not working, tv not working, oven not working, and there was no way to get back onto the dock after jumping into the water. Needs a ladder for sure. Kind of dangerous. Very clean, very picturesque neighborhood, quaint and cute! Would absolutely stay again if some details attended too =)

Beautiful lake house

We stayed for 3 nights and absolutely loved this house! The view of the lake is incredible and the hot tub and fire pit were very relaxing. It felt like we were at summer camp. Diana was great as well - very responsive to the questions I sent her. I would definitely recommend this house for your next lakeside getaway.

Perfect place for a week getaway

This was just what we needed. The view is spectacular. It was a little chilly when we first arrived, so the gas fireplace was perfect. The hot tub was a lot of fun and with the firepit, we got to toast marshmallows and make smores. All in all it was a perfect stay that even elicited some smiles for a moody 12 year old! Thanks.

Lakeside paradise

We enjoyed our long weekend away from the city in this perfectly private lakeside gem. The house has a nice layout with a cute kitchen and nice size livingroom with sunset views of the lake. The a/c units were perfectly set when we arrived and the bedrooms, complete with ensuite baths were complete with all the amenities. We enjoyed the deck with the large retractable awning that protected you from the sun and the rain. The lake was quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed the paddleboat. The property was fully manicured and the hot tub was delicious. The surrounding area was upscale and the recreation areas were well kept. It was the perfect house for a quick getaway or a weekly stay. Diana was very nice and we felt very comfortable in her house. We plan on going back someday.

Total Relaxation & Care

The property truly did exceed expectations. Starting with the view of the lake from the deck and the hot tub, to actually having a dock on the lake that one could sit upon and relax. The gas fireplace, the large screen TV, solid Wi-fi, a small but very solid kitchen, the view of the lake from inside the home, Sonos bluetooth speaker, open floor space living room and of course the hot tub. As someone who has rented places before there was an internet to rent from, I have been in many properties. While for the most part everything goes smoothly. Every now and then, things happen. Power goes out due to a storm, flooding occurs due to a storm or clogged line and the list goes on. While these things can be upsetting, I recognize that it is part of the high price of home ownership. Things happen. The question is, how does the owner or property manager handle it when it does goes wrong? After all it is easy to have a good time, when everything is going well. But what about when things do not go well? It is for this reason that I would highly recommend this property. I had many things go wrong, but at each turn, Diana was instantly available and promptly resolved the issue. No muss, no fuss. It was handled and handled quickly. Even more than handling it, she was always pleasant and reassuring. I know I felt as though my constant calls were annoying her. Yet at no point did I hear that in her voice. It was always pleasant and reassuring that things would be handled. This is a quality that is rare, and what truly made my stay here enjoyable. The properties we rent may be amazing, but in the end for most of them, they are amazing because they are infused with the owners' essence. It creates a vibe that all would be well. Thanks to Diana it was. And then some. I look forward to returning in the future.
