Two-Night Stay Turned Sour — Wrongful Parking Fine and Poor Room Conditions
I wasn’t planning to leave a negative review for this hotel. I was willing to overlook the broken air conditioning, the unpleasant carpet smell, and the hair left in the shower. However, after receiving a €60 parking fine, plus an additional €42 “administration fee” from our rental car company (a total of about $136 USD), I feel I need to warn other travelers.
1. Wrongful parking fine (beware!)
Upon arrival, I asked the woman at the front desk if it was okay to unload our luggage near the entrance. She told us to pull into the covered parking area to unload, but we had to be quick. She never stated how long we had to unload or anything about registering our vehicle. We parked exactly where instructed, unloaded our bags straight to our room and immediately left the parking lot to return the car to the rental company. THIS HAS GOT TO BE A SCAM!!!
2. Air conditioning didn’t work
We booked a room with air conditioning, but it never worked during our two-night stay. When we called the front desk, we were just told how to turn it on. The second night, after reporting it again, we were told there was nothing they could do. They eventually brought a fan, but the room was still uncomfortably warm.
3. Unpleasant room condition
The carpet had a strong odor — like vomit in one area — and the shower had hair left.
