It was very convenient for somewhere to crash between flights, the access to the hotel via the Pods was quick and convenient. Some of the interiors were a little bit tired, and the walls were pretty thin, so not great if you're a light sleeper

Nice hotel

Great for an overnight stay at LHR. Easy to get to (using the instructions on the Thistle website), via the Pods. Very comfortable bed and pillows, clean room that is soundproof and has blackout curtains. Perfect before a flight.

I booked the Thistle because of its close proximity to Terminal 5, and I was so pleasantly surprised. From Arrivals, the Pods transport is super easy and quick. I was able to do early check in, and my room was very clean, large, and had everything I needed. I did not take advantage of the restaurant, but it’s available for breakfast and dinner. Getting into London was easy— a 5 min Pod ride back to Terminal 5, and catch the Underground. I will definitely book the Thistle again.

Perfect for T5 - Avoid the bar

Hotel ideal for travelling to/from t5 due to the pod system running right to the door. Hotel itself is quite comfortable although a little dated looking. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful on check in and check out with some advice on restaurant etc given. The bar/restaurant itself was a little bit of a let down, mainly due to the attitude of the duty manager. There was an issue with the computer so he stopped staff taking orders for food for 15 minutes (bearing in mind it was already quite late) as apparently “it not possible to order food on a pad just on the computer! When eventually decided. Pad could be used, the food was delivered with a grunted “this yours” followed by food virtually thrown down. Asked for cutlery which got a barked order shouted to the bar staff to bring it. No apology for the delay and left with the feeling of being a burden! Next time will head to McDonald’s or the kebab shop 5 mins away as maybe they want the custom!

Could do better

Location is great with the use of pods if your flying in and out of terminal 5. If your from a different terminal, be prepared for the gruesome transfer to T5 in LHR. I was asked if I can do a little bit of stairs where they assigned my room, it was quite a climb with 2 check in bags. Please make sure if you have bags and dont want to carry two sets of stairs, ask for a different room. The showe head was adjusted too much facing to the wall that I had to hold on to the wall to get rinsed. The shower know was too tight that i feared if I pivot it where I wanted it to be to adjust water temp that id break it. I was too tired to complain and just dealt with it since its just an overnight stay. Bed and pillows are comfortable. I hope the receptionist be a little bit more thoughful in giving rooms to travellers. Breaktfast buffet was good for its price point. The attendant inside was great.
