We lodged a complaint with the front desk twice with an assurance that it would be referred to management, no response. Followed up with a detailed email after we got home, again no response. The issue was that a member of staff walked into our room with no knocking etc, for no apparent reason that we know of (mumbled) sorry and left, no reason given. My wife was getting dressed at the time...

Beautiful decor, lovely ginger flower scent throughout the entire hotel, nice buffet breakfast, polite attentive staff. However on check-in I was allocated a room in the bottom floor with a view on the 2 arcades roofs and a tiny view on the river not worth mentioning! I specifically asked and paid for River view which was $100 dearer. Upon returning to the checking counter the lady made a disappointed doubtful face. She had given this room which was the only one ready at the time (wonder why!!) when I had said we were early and not in a hurry as we were going to lunch. She found in a minute a room on the much higher floor with full river view but still being cleaned, that we didn't mind coming back later. That room was all I could ask for, beautiful views on the City and Yarra River. Such a shame we were first allocated a passable room hoping we wouldn't dare to complain.

Warm professional welcome by Dean on arrival at reception. Beautiful river and city views from our spacious 15th floor corner room. A beautiful hotel in a convenient part of Melbourne for tourists.We had a lovely River room. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. We took the breakfast option, which was worth it if you were intending to eat well. Great spot for a visit to the art gallery.
