Shame…could be better and I won’t return!
Tv would not work. I went to reception and the receptionist said ‘oh yeah, I know about that’! Came to my room and pulled a wire out and put it back in again saying that every time I put the tv off and in again I had to do that! Said the ‘maintenance man’ said it was fine if they just do that and so it’s working!! So in the morning I nearly pulled the tv off the wall to get it to work by pulling out a wire at the back of it and having to put it back again! £15 for overnight parking, a bit steep!! Struggled to climb into the bath to get a shower and I am middle aged, not too old, as it’s a huge step over due to tiling edging! Room was freezing! Breakfast was delicious but both toasters broken, again, told it was known about but the ‘maintenance man’ just wiggles it and says it’s working! Shame about the faults and freezing room because it could be grand! I travel weekly and certainly won’t be going back! I need to relax when I am away with work, not go to reception find someone to fix the tv that they know is faulty and ask for help with a simple toaster…oh, and sit cold at night watching the tv (eventually)!…
I’m normally a fan of Best Western hotels, they’re usually in some old, interesting and quirky buildings. Although the frontage of this hotel is quite appealing the main accommodation is somewhat soulless and rundown 60’s vibe. However the main concern was the cleanliness of the room, especially the bathroom. It looked as though it hadn’t had anything more than a cursory wipe over in years. The toilet was constantly running, the plastic bath panel was damaged and there was mould around the edges of the floor. The whole place needs a good clean and uplift. Which is a shame as it’s in a fairly convenient location close to Edgbaston and a short tram ride into town. The staff were helpful and the breakfast enjoyable.
Pretty run down property, needs a lot of TLC. Never stayed at a hotel before that has run out of tea bags at breakfast of all things. Food in the restaurant was nuked before leaving the kitchen
Disappointed to learn there is no restaurant available at the weekend, and the breakfast service was very poor.
The parking was an expensive addition for those not booking direct with the hotel.

Great value for money
Can’t beat this hotel for value. Free parking makes it very affordable, spacious rooms, just a little dated. Lovely friendly staff.
They really need to up their customer experience by providing aome basics, like bottled water, instead of assuming that everyone would take water from the tap.
