Check in was easy, staff happy to accomodate our request for rooms close together.
The rooms. One was fine, the other had a terrible smell from the drain. Not a massive issue just a trap seal loss. Rooms were clean and tidy.
Unfortunately both rooms the beds were the first failure, mattresses with springs poking into you, simply poor quality mattresses
Pillows looked great. Unfortunately when you lay on them they flatten out to pancakes with close to no support.
Following morning, went to breakfast. After expecting the same quality we experienced at the other hilton in birmingham recently, this fell far from the mark.
The cooked food was vile. Hard, stale, rubbery, overcooked, undercooked. They managed to tick all of those boxes.
Visually unappealing.
Bread for toast was starting to go stale. Then the most gutting part...... no waffle station as we expected and experienced at the other hilton previously mentioned.
Everyone left most of the food and left completely dissatisfied.
Went back to the room, collected our things abd checked out. Before arrival the previous day we had asked if there was a car park or a third party that was teamed up with the hotel. The lady on the phone told us which car park to use to get a discount from the hotel and kindly included the postcode.
When checking out we asked the lady if she could help us with the parking validation or discount. We were promptly told no, we dont do that despite saying the lady on the phone told us otherwise.
