Noisy nightclub under hotel

Terribly outdated rooms. Hotel is above a nightclub that plays music until 4am. The music can be heard through the hotel corridors so a lot of rooms will be affected. Read the description on ibis itself.

Shocking!

Worst hotel stay I’ve ever had! I’d have been far better in travelodge but thought this would be a step up - it was a many steps down! I’ve stayed in many hotels of varying ratings and cost but this was beyond poor even for the price. The reception is deceptive because once you step out of the lift it’s like some sort of dated office block. The rooms are a horrible mix of cheap looking wood, dated furnishings and textured walls that look like a back street hostel. TV didn’t work. Thinnest duvet and most terrible bed I’ve ever encountered. Basic in its most raw form. To make it worse there is nothing on the hotels.com page or in reception that states that the hotel sits above a load of nightclubs so sleep was impossible up to closing time around 3am. Second stay at an Ibis and both stays have been poor.

The TV in my room was not working when I arrived- I reported this to reception who said they would send someone to look at it. I waited over an hour but no one arrived - I sent a Whatsapp message to the hotel reception but got no reply -after another 30 minutes I went back down from the 4th floor to reception to complain.. Only then did a member of staff actually follow me to my room. The problem was the batteries in the remote control had to be replaced so off she went again to do this which involved another 15 minutes. All in all I was over 2 hours trying to sort this out. I am 76 years of age & the last thing I wanted to be doing was going up & down to reception at the end of a very long day. The key cards for my room were very unreliable & at times did not work which meant that I had to visit reception again on more than one occasion to get these replaced.I used the sink in the bathroom to wash my hands & the plug just stuck which meant that I could not drain the water away - another trip to reception to report this !!!!! The quality of the breakfast left a lot to be desired & was not worth the money. I ended up eating very little which is unusual for me. .

Overall positive good value stay

Nice decor downstairs, friendly staff, good value breakfast. Room was pretty small and a bit tired in comparison to the shared areas of the hotel. It was clean though and the shower was good.
