Great stay

Enjoyed our stay. After reading the reviews it was as expected, down stairs is really nice, clean and fresh. The bedroom was much larger than expected (had a family suite), comfortable but it was very dated. The food was good but the portion sizes are quite small. The pool was good and the family entertainment was great

We had a lovely stay

We had the annex which was spotless and room service left items that we requested. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good options for breakfast. Entertainment was enjoyable. Swimming pools are starting to look a little dated but they were checked and cleaned regularly.

Brilliant cleaning staff.

The room was incredibly clean. Blackout curtains. Staff were very friendly. Room facilities were excellent. Only marked down for the breakfast quality and lack of hot water in my morning shower. Overall, a good stay.

Had a great Monday to Saturday stay. The two pools are so welcome on the hot summer days. ( the banister leading down into the indoor pool needs some attention) . Shame the outdoor pool bar is only open on a Saturday,was a little disappointed that the steam room was out of order. But many thanks to all the staff that made our stay so enjoyable.

Was not to my expectations. We had a family room with a double bed and 2 single beds with a seaview. Problem was the TV was fixed on the wall and only one viewer in the room could watch it. They have an indoor and outdoor pool which is good but the indoor pool is in the basement with no windows, quite depressing. The outdoor pool is fantastic for a sunny day. It's also where the sauna is although it was switched off. Back to indoors there is a steam room and jacuzzi but again within a depressing area. Changing rooms are also naff indoors, but better outdoors. The food was terrible, the pizza was so greasy it was inedible. It was supposed to be a pepperoni and had 4 slices on the whole 11 inches at a cost of £12. The chips come in one of those tiny 2 inch baskets at around 4 pounds. We paid £375 for 4 of us for 3 nights on Expedia, on their own website it was 425. Even the Norbreck castle is better value for money.

Can honestly say, I'd have given exceptional marks across the board if it hadnt been for the fact that we could not use the shower throughout our 2 day stay given there was no hot water (room 27). We had to boil a kettle for to wash in the sink. Looks like a water connection problem given we had hot water in the toilet when it flushed.

The room was okay but there was a really strong sewage/drains smell, particularly when the shower was used. The mattress was very uncomfortable and the noise levels from the entertainment downstairs were high. The room was clean and well equipped though.
