Hotel sited in a place with bus and tram stops a short walk from Hotel. First room we were allocated had a fault with lighting and insecure door locking system also double bed pushed right up against the wall ok for younger generation, manager quickly moved ourselves to another room which was what we should have had in the first place, bit of mish mash furniture but comfortable bed and clean room. Really good breakfast . parts of the hotel now a bit tired but we will be back

Booked one night as going to a show at Winter gardens When we checked in there wasn’t a room available which we had booked (double sea view) so after a few minutes the guy said app sorted we’ve upgraded you to a luxury family room which was fab, so roomy and comfortable Breakfast self service but again no complaints

Friendly but tired

Stayed here many times, but this last trip was sadly not good. The grand exterior and reception and bar areas remain classic, but the hotel is sorely in need of upkeep, particularly the rooms. We had a deluxe double which was extremely tired in very poor condition and in urgent need of an update and even a box of tissues.Staff lovely and freindly but there is a sense of management/training issues being needed. Seems like a very sad demise and we reluctantly will be forced to stay somewhere else next time. Hopefully someone will come to the rescue of this Grand Old Lady who still has huge classic potential.

The old style and grandeur. Staff were extremely helpful, just no hot water on the 2nd morning. Overall a really good stay and would go back again!
