Avoid- stay at Premier Inn instead

Hotel is run down and poorly maintained. It is insanely hot in all common areas and corridors. The rooms are hot too but do have air conditioning. (It was not especially hot outside at the time of our stay). The building is in a poor state, with odd smells and leaks noticeable. Staff were not very helpful.

Hotel is nicely decorated and rooms have comfortable beds with nice modern bedrooms. I found the location to be great, convenient for all parts of Bristol. Second time I have stayed there … highly recommend.

I’d seen some poor reviews so was very pleased to find these unfounded. Room clean and tidy; hotel decor good; staff friendly; choice at breakfast good.

The location is great. However the room didn't really make you feel 4 star luxury. There's a shower curtain rather than a screen, the ceiling paint is peeling off in the bathroom - probably due to there not being a working extractor fan and they hadn't bothered to nove the furniture out when they painted the walls leaving the old colour where the brushes couldn't reach. Overall it feels like a hotel doing the bare minimum it can. Ok for an overnight stay but not recommended for a treat or if you're staying in the city longer

The bathroom was terrible. Peeling paint the the bath, shower door was dirty. Very noisy and dirty walls throughout the room. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable!

Had a lovely stay, hotel was in perfect location and the on-site parking was an added bonus (you have to pay extra but worth it) everything you need is either walkable or Uber's arrived in minutes. The room door card was a bit temperamental and didn't work first time EVER, and I did have to get it sorted in reception once as it completely gave up, a fridge would have been handy but not a game changer. Overall a lovely visit and will definitely stay here again if we come back to Bristol.

Lovely upgrade to a Privilege room, plus card and chocolates for our anniversary, which was a lovely touch. Great location in the centre of town, but not noisy. The building is a grand old lady, so does have some quirks, but overall we loved our stay here and would definitely stay again when visiting Bristol

Could be a lovely hotel, but our room had no working air con and as a result was difficult to sleep in. Reported issue but staff were not supportive and actually despite complaining several times, the member of staff we initially complained to denied later he knew of the issue. All weekend lift had an error and said was in evac mode or maintenance mode and kept saying it was on floors that did not exist. I’m sure it was probably safe, but a note from management saying they were aware of the issue and were waiting for engineers to reset it wouldn’t have hurt and would have been re-assuring. But, other than reception staff, the staff in the restaurant and bar were lovely. As say could be/should be a lovely hotel, just needs better maintenance and both our original room, which did get changed for 2nd night, and first room were tired, and needed a bit of tlc.
