The hotel is a classic old fashioned hotel with a large portico as you enter. It has a very modern yet classic feel and staff were very helpful. Opted for an upgraded room which overlooked the park. Furnishings were minimal and in comparison to other hotels I have stayed at were a bit tired and stains on carpet which was a bit surprising given it’s status.
Car parking at hotel was good and location is perfect as it is central Cambridge.
Overall worth a try but personally not sure I would rush back. The main concern was on payment, reserved the room through Expedia and handed my card when booking in and on check out was told the excess would be paid back into my account. However, the hotel charged my other card from Expedia that I had used to reserve. Thus have a pre authorised amount taken from one account and the full amount taken from another card. On calling the hotel they were not very helpful and said they had no record of the pre authorised debit.. even though I had the receipt. Now have to wait up to 30 days for the money to come back into my account. So warning. Just make sure you are clear on where they are debiting your money
