Wonderful stay. Fantastic staff who made my birthday stay special with some added touches. Staff at reception and the Morse Bar really went the extra mile, thank you! We used the spa which was £20 per head, there was a bit of an odour to the changing room area and the shower in the thermal area was blocked and water over flowing. The bed was extremely comfortable and one of the best night sleeps we’ve had in a long time!

This property is in walking distance from shopping, restaurants and really cool architecture. The restraint had poor and slow service. The food is overpriced for this area. The room was nice. The shower was out of soap. The housekeeping does not vacuum. No attention to detail here. Every service person we encountered seemed bothered to interact. The beds are wonderfully soft!

It might be a long way to your room...

The biggest issue I had with the property is that our room was so far from the lobby! "Take the elevator up to the first floor , turn left, down a few steps, down this hall, up some steps, down a longer hall, down a flight of steps, down another hall..... Good Grief! The room was a nice size, shower is *very* small. The bedding was all too heavy -- no happy medium of just a light blanket. Silly knit throws at the foot of the bed that are too heavy, and just don't work because they're so stretchy. King bed is just two twins pushed together with uncomfortable lump in the middle. Sigh. We did have help carrying our luggage during the journey to and from our room. Staff are all very nice. Coffee and tea service in the room was great. Room was very quiet.

Our room was nice but it was difficult to get to given the age of the building. The staff were friendly. The overall stay would’ve been fine had we not had an abysmal experience during breakfast. We reserved breakfast the night before. When we got down to breakfast, they told us it was about an hour wait. We wait our turn and come back, and when we went to the buffet, nearly everything was empty. We ended up leaving and asking for a refund. Definitely not what I expected of a “5 star hotel”.

The hotel is very dated and the rooms a little quirky. Our room in particular sloped in various directions the tv bureau sloped one way and the desk table another. Difficult when trying to make a coffee in the morning when the cup slides down the table. However an enjoyable stay.

Overall a lovely hotel….

A lovely hotel, and overall a good experience. The public areas are something quite special - and service is excellent. My only complaint which resists a 5 star rating was the room noise. It was quite dated, and the corridor noise was quite loud through the night and could hear another guest coughing in their room - which given the relatively high room price was a bit disappointing. I’d stay here again, but I’d ask for a better room away from traffic areas.

This is a gorgeously appointed old fashioned hotel right in the middle of Oxford. The staff is exceptionally responsive and welcoming, and our rooms were comfortable and pretty. My favorite part of the exoerience was the fireside bar—the perfect spot for a warm drink after a day of walking.

Good hotel, but service needs improvement.

The Randolph is ideally located in the centre of Oxford, with everything being in walkable distance. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. The service, sadly, didn’t match the hotel’s offering. Many staff members came across as unwilling to help, and even tried moving our party from areas, having been told to sit there by other staff members.

My kids and I stayed here for one night as a bit of research now that we’ve moved into the area, so we can see which hotels to suggest to friends. The building is very impressive but it’s a bit too old school for me, and could do to modernise a bit. The bar area is very small and situated near the front door. The food in the restaurant was delicious but the service was a little slow. We switched rooms because the heating wasn’t working properly, but this was all done very quickly and efficiently and we actually ended up in a nicer room. Compared to other 5 star hotels in the area, amenities in the bedrooms were a bit disappointing. So, whilst we enjoyed our stay, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to friends staying in the area. Sorry!
