My room was clean and comfortable. It had an iron and a refrigerator as well as tea and coffee facilities. The showers are good and easy to use. Breakfast buffet was good quality. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall it was a good experience at the price.
Manager came out of his cave to give me a load of rubbish about the law and why I was unable to check my guests in. Unfortunately he was talking total trash, he knew this was true but he didn't want me to check in my guests.
I made the booking, paid for the booking and knew everything associated with the booking. I wasn't even asked to show proof of booking, or payment! Instead I was spoken to as if I was a common criminal someone trying to score myself a free night in a hotel - I'm sorry but I wear clean clothes and speak properly, I'm not some scab who just rolled in off the street and I was not happy with this inclination.
Message for Big Man Mr Manager: "Next time mate, learn the law before you start spouting what is and what isn't. Step out with a smile on your face and not like you have just trodden on lego. Treat guests with courtesy and respect and don't come out your cave looking for a fight - because you just embarrassed yourself in front of your receptionist (who was actually really nice)."
Other than that the hotel was fine. My guests had no complaints. Unfortunately I made the booking and I also leave the reviews! Funny how that works!
Clean, comfortable hotel in a popular area. Only inconvenience was in my room, to close the curtains I had to climb a ladder to a little corner area. Very weird.
Having stayed mainly in Hyatt properties in Northern America, I perhaps expected a little more 'luxury'. I may as well have stayed in the Ibis down the road, or the Hampton by Hilton around the corner, as I didn't feel the quality/price balance was right on this occasion.
