The appearance of the room had a wow factor as soon as we walked in but that soon changed when we realised how close to the railway track we were. We were 20 yards from the tracks and at the same height so the regular trains passing most of the night was terrible. The room was never warm which I assume was due to the height of the single pane windows. Finally the front of the wc in the bathroom was so close to the facing wall it was a joke. Everything else in the hotel was perfect but I do not think room 162 is fit for purpose and should not be used. We would return if we were guaranteed a room at the other end of the hotel as it is so handy for the city centre.
