Great city location

Checkin was quick and easy, I was allocated a room that had a broken aircon. I messaged reception on Watsapp and was contacted back quickly to arrange a new room. Whilst the new room had a working aircon the controls were set to auto and would either blow too cold or too hot, no option to just have a fan function. Location is amazing, right in the city centre, close to all the city train stations.

Not the customer service you’d expect

I had a very disappointing check-in experience. After a 10-hour flight delay, I arrived exhausted and jet-lagged, only to be met with rudeness at reception. I was reprimanded for not calling to say I’d be late, despite the fact that I was on a long-haul flight and unable to. Her attitude was unwelcoming, which immediately got me offside. The person at check in went on at length about what the system does if a guest checks in after midnight. I appreciate that procedures can be frustrating, but as a guest, it's not helpful to be lectured about internal systems. A much better approach would have been something simple and courteous: “Hi, welcome to Manchester and/or Ibis Styles. Let me check the system for you and get your room sorted. Have a nice stay.” I won’t book there again.

Great location. Rooms were nice although noisy with the trams until about 11pm. Air conditioning was also noisy and water was tepid at best which was annoying after we’d run the half marathon. Breakfast was included and was decent and the bar area was nice. Staff in arrival were a little disinterested and despite rooms being available, wouldn’t check us in without an additional fee a couple of hours early so we just went out for a walk. Beds very comfy and restaurant staff very welcoming. Tracey was particularly friendly. A good base for exploring the city and 5 mins walk to the train station.

I was in Manchester for a concert at the Co-Op arena. I wanted a hotel close to Piccadilly station and handy for the tram service out to the arena. This Ibis fitted the bill well. I had a goodnight's sleep too.

Clean & tidy. Central to everything. Would stay again but not if i was looking to sleep in. Walls/doors paper thin could here everthing. But on this occasion it didn’t matter as I was up early to catch a flight.

Mixed review w

Mixed. Hotel operates a system of no phones. When the fire alarm went off for the second time we tried phoning reception using the number provided….no answer. When we queried at reception we were told to use a WhatsApp number to contact reception. Two days later I have received no reply to my concerns about their fire procedures. My query certainly wasn’t treated seriously by the receptionist. I am okay about using WhatsApp but they need to monitor this. As a result I have marked down the scoring for the hotel. We also noted a hole in the ceiling where there had been a leak. While this was clearly being left to dry we did not expect to find a wet carpet between the two beds! On a positive note hotel is in a great central location but my concerns over safety mean that it is unlikely I will return.

We’ve stayed here twice now as it’s been the cheapest option on both occasions but it doesn’t feel like it at all. The staff checked us in really quickly, the rooms are comfy with everything you could need, and even though we didn’t use it, the onsite restaurant looked really good. Would definitely recommend!

The staff were slightly non communicative, when asking questions, it was a no phone system, and WhatsApp needed, but they never responded. The hairdryer and iron didn’t work, hot water also an issue. Not a great stay
