Perfectly situated within the city. Train and metro right next door. Ability to walk easily for food, drinks, and site seeing. A plus was we were able to check-in a couple hours early after an all night flight.

The property was lovely. Original and charming. Reception staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Right opposite the station. We parked in the station car park as the hotel one was full. It was £8 for the 18 hours we were there. Good value for Newcastle. We booked one of the small standard doubles. It is what is says - small. It was clean and quieter than expected. Ok for a night but in future we would book a bigger room. Nice for a one night stay

Noisy - cold shower - wouldn’t stay again

Parking is available, but it’s tiny and as I arrived on Saturday, it was full and had to park off site. My colleague had arrived earlier and asked to be moved from the second floor, as he could hear the noise from outside (even at 3pm) and was moved on to the 4th floor, which was quite. I requested a different room when room, when given the second and was told no others weee available due to a wedding. The room was noisy all night as it was at the front of the hotel and felt like I was on the street with the evening revellers. I had a show to attend at 8am, so got very little sleep. The shower at 7am was cold, my colleague said it was the same for him too. I was later told that this because of the wedding party guests all using it at the same time. However, the shower was cold on Monday too, until about 8:15am. When I mentioned this to the first person on reception as I was checking out, she didn’t seem to be empathetic and said she would report it. I spoke to another person who did take an interest and wrote it down in a call log book. I paid £181 for Saturday night, which was terrible value for a very noisy room, with no parking and a cold shower. Sunday was cheaper. I travel a lot for work, staying away most weeks and I wouldn’t stay here again.
