If you want a location which is literally a stone’s throw from NUFC or Newcastle city centre, this is the place. But you get what you pay for.

Greeted at reception by workmen repairing a leak in the ceiling and another repairing a door. Room was ok but a bit basic for a 4star hotel. Electric heater was either red hot or off. Toiletries limited to body ash. No tissues in the holder. One of the two lifts was out of service, with associated waiting times increased. View over football stadium with quite a bit of traffic noise. Breakfast disappointing, self service buffet style with no fried eggs, fried bread or black pudding. Not too big a deal but I like as surprised that so many items were unavailable despite to restaurant not being that busy.

The room needed decorating. The music in the bar went on very loudly until after midnight. There wasn’t a quiet bar or restaurant to eat or drink in. Appreciate there was football on but I could see a lot of families and the bar was not suitable with the extremely loud music

Booked a suite for 2 adults (which was for a family of 4). The suite was tired, the windows were dirty and the toilet roll holder was hanging off. The kitchen equipment was certainly not for a family of 4. Went to reception to express our concerns and were moved to a different room. Unfortunately it wasn’t a suite, but a studio. Even though we were charged extra to move there. The room was clean, but the towels were stained. The shower pretty much flooded the bathroom every time we used it, so had to request fresh towels every day. The phone in the room also wasn’t working so we had to ask at reception each day for the towels. Only one lift was working for the duration of our stay - and another guest said it has been out of order since June!! Not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.
