The hotel boasts a charming, historic setting with a generally pleasant and cosy atmosphere. While the cleanliness was adequate, our room did not align with the online photographs. You would expect for £428 for two nights, that a complimentary breakfast would be included, this was not the case which was a notable disappointment. The staff provided satisfactory service, though not exceptional. Overall, the experience did not fully meet the expectations typically associated with a 4-star establishment. Additionally, guests should be aware that food and beverage prices within the hotel are quite high.
The staff recommended parking at Marygate and Bootham Gate, which would have amounted to £125 for two nights. However, we independently found parking through the JustPark app for £40, resulting in significant savings.
I was expecting much better. The aesthetics were brilliant but everything else was okay at best.
