The motel room was very clean, but the property itself is very tired and in need of some upgrading. It was difficult to communicate with the staff because they did not speak or understand English. We would have liked to have bath and hand towels per person. Kitchen utensils were sparse although the electric hob was efficient. Our visit coincided with cold weather in Auckland so electric blankets would have been very welcome. We had to leave the heating to leave heating on all night because the unit was cold. I need to say that we were often late leaving each day and so their room service was interrupted.

Property is close to the motorway, walking distance to supermarket etc, and a short drive from cafes, restaurants, and local beaches and entertainment. Sliding door (entrance) didn't glide open easily, every property had one or more steps to get inside (so not disability friendly), the outside security lighting is great, but the absence of an outside light by the room made it hard to see the keyhole on the sliding door at night, and no reading lamp in the by the desk was a bit problematic. Despite that, the stay was enjoyable. The above are suggestions for improvement.

a bit run down

Pupuke Manor Motel, it served the purpose of being handy where we needed to be, it was comfortable enough but probably more suited to uni students. Room was advertised as 2 x queen beds + twin beds. However room only had 1 queen bed + 1 king single bed with pull out trundler bed underneath. Unit had no teaspoons, no hand towels, no tissues, tv very hard to get going, Shower supplies were just from the supermarket over the road, and unit run down.

Not exactly as advertised

We booked a deluxe bungalow. It says it has 2 queen beds 1 twin single and 1 fold out sofa bed. It did not. It had 1 queen and 1 twin. When I queried they said they do have have a bungalow with 2 queens and that they will bring a second roll or twin bed. Advertising needs to change needs to change as it is false. Woolworths is right across the road which is handy. Quiet and bungalow was comfy enough but dated.

This property seems to be emerency housing and when we were there, there was an incident when police had to be called on a semi permanent resident. We were meant to stay for three nights but checked out after one... would not recommend for anyone especially children.
