I was not very satisfied with my stay at this hotel. My family had planned to spend our vacation here along with two other families of our friends — a total of 12 people. We booked our rooms several months in advance and provided specific requests regarding our accommodations. When my family and I arrived first, we were assigned a room with a view almost entirely of the parking lot near the hotel’s main entrance. As a result, we constantly heard the noise of cars from inside the room. My son has asthma, and our doctor recommended a change of climate to help him feel better. To follow this advice, we needed to keep the balcony door open for fresh air. However, due to the heavy noise and car exhaust fumes, it was impossible. Additionally, the lock on the bathroom door was broken. I immediately went to the front desk to ask for assistance. The staff member told me that if I was unhappy, I should call Expedia and cancel my reservation. We had just flown 5.3 hours to get there and had planned to enjoy a vacation with friends who had booked rooms at the same hotel to be with us. I asked to speak with a manager, but I was told that all managers were in a meeting and that someone would call me back. No specific time was given, even after I asked for clarification. During our entire 7-day stay, no one ever contacted me. As for the broken bathroom door — it was repaired once, but the next day it was broken again. I am very disappointed with the level of service provided at this hotel.

It would be great if I liked crowded busy atmosphere, with lots of families and corporate events, but I don't. Much of the beauty was lost with all the noise and population of people. Everything costs extra money as well. They outsource the cabana rentals too, Donovon who worked the counter was definitely NOT customer oriented. This amenity should be managed by the hotel, not outsourced. We enjoyed the Wailea Beach Resort much more, true paradise for our family. They have a slide and arcade that doesn't cost additional money. Probably won't be back, too many better options and areas. Don't display birds in cages so they can be bothered by people and kids all day, at least keep the macaws that are life partners together. Awful, certainly there is much more that can be done to keep the beauty of the place, rather than keeping birds in cages on display.

Pool area is very busy and very crowded with not only Westin guests but also guests from other neighboring Marriott properties. Challenging to get a bartender’s attention. Towel checkout policy is tiresome. Paid $85 per day for two beach chairs and an umbrella. In general, the resort seems oversubscribed.

It is a really nice property right on the beach. The ground is well kept. It has several pools with water slides and a family friendly place. Right next door is Whaler's Village which has lots of stores and restaurants. The ABC store in the Whaler's Village has everything from grab and go's to beer also souvenir to take home. Very friendly staff. We will definitely go back should we visit Maui again.
